Archaeological Museum of Thassos

The Archaeological Museum of Thassos will welcome you upon your entrance with the impressive statue of Kouros, 3.50 meters high from the Archaic era, (600 BC) the guided tour of the Museum begins the history of the island from the Bronze Age ( 3,500-1500 BC) until the early Christian times.

Holy Monastery of the Archangel Michael

The Women’s Holy Monastery of Archangel Michael is the largest and best-known monastery of Thassos and is an important pilgrimage. In 1974, nuns came from Pelion, who worked hard and transformed the monastery.

The Museum of Polygnotos Vagis is dedicated and named after the famous sculptor Polygnotos Vagis who was born and grew up on the island of Thassos. The museum exhibits 98 works of sculpture and 15 paintings from the period 1920-1960.
